This is a 3-hour course to explore the story of our bodies and the dramaturgy of our dances through movement, improvisation and somatic exercises. We will work solo, or in pairs and trios, to expand our movement vocabulary and articulate the stories we are telling. Switching between observing and being observed creates a collective body from our individual biographies. This workshop is free of charge.
As a child I danced but I didn't know I could be a dancer. After studying filmmaking, I discovered Butoh dance which shifted my perspective on life and my path through it. I traveled the world to deepen my movement practice, learning from teachers I chose and developing my own methods from those that sparked my interest, extending my research in relation to movement.
In this workshop I share part of that research for the first time with others.
